EEYOU EENOU ISTCHEE - The Cree Nation Youth Council held their Board of Directors meeting on October 1, 2 & 3, 2019 at the Cree Nation of Mistissini.

At the meeting, it was decided to suspend Mr. Robin Gull-Saganash as the Deputy Youth Grand Chief until the end of the term (August 2021).  And so, a resolution was adopted relating to section 6 & 7 of Governance Guidelines:

• (6.3 e) on account of missing 3 consecutive meetings;
• (7.8) being an inactive Executive Member and a Board of Director of the Cree Nation Youth Council;

With reference to Section 9 (9.2 d / 9.3 f) of the Governance Guidelines, Mr. Robin Gull-Saganash received a vote of incompetence because he was unable to fulfill his duties as the Deputy Youth Grand Chief. The decision released was based on account of the lack of the availability to properly commit to the position of the Deputy Youth Grand Chief due to his local responsibilities.

In consequence, (9.4) the Board of Directors of the Cree Nation Youth Council appointed Ms. Samantha Awashish, Youth Chief of Mistissini as interim Deputy Youth Grand Chief until the end of term.

The Cree Nation Youth Council would like to acknowledge and express appreciation for Mr. Robin Gull-Saganash for his service in the last 2 years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
