PROGRAMS AND ELIGIBILITY

Cree Nation Youth Council offers 6 main funding priorities:

EDUCATION & SUPPORT

Programs for participants and or the Youth like School Clubs promoting sports, educational activities or Culture and Arts.

BUSINESS & EMPLOYMENT

Programs for Participants or the Youth like Mentor ship in business, Youth Entrepreneur Programs, Youth workforce or Skills Development.

HEALTH & ACTIVE LIVING

Programs addressing the health and well being of Youth of Eeyou Istchee related to Health and Active Living.

PERSONAL & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Life Skills programs that provides healing for social and personal barriers or services creating positive outcomes in personal and social development

CULTURE & TRADITION

Programs related to Culture and Tradition; healthy eating and active living programs in a traditional setting or using traditional activities.

CITIZENSHIP & PARTICIPATION

Youth led change programs that address community and regional issues, Mentor ship and Shadowing programs in leadership, volunteer programs addressing civic and / or environmental issues.

PRIORITY OF APPLICATIONS

All applications to Cree Nation Youth Council are subject to available funding at the time of the application and priority is given to applications that:

  • Display shared costs and partnerships;
  • We also prioritize applications with the ability to integrate culture and tradition into your program;
  • Programs that target “At Risk “ Youth;
  • Programs that assist youth with disabilities;
  • Programs that encourage a re-engagement with the school system;
  • Programs that are delivered in the Cree Communities.
